I Found a Free Kayak and Went Wild Camping – Medway Canoe Trail
I’ve always wanted to try kayaking — and combining it with wild camping made it even better. So when I came across a free kayak, I jumped at the chance to take it on the beautiful Medway Canoe Trail.
Starting from Tonbridge and paddling to Yalding, I followed the winding river through peaceful countryside before setting up a solo wild camp at Porters Lock.
This was one of the most rewarding and peaceful trips I’ve done, with stunning views, river wildlife, and the perfect blend of paddling and pitching. If you’ve ever thought about combining kayaking with wild camping — this is your sign to go for it.
